Our Team

Josh joined our staff in May of 2024 as our Lead Pastor. Josh was a minister in the Southern California area for nearly 15 years. Originally from the Philippines, he majored in Biblical Studies at Hope International University. He then went on to attend Pepperdine University and Fuller Seminary graduating with an MA in Theology. He is married to his wife Angelica since 2015 and they have two amazing kiddos, Sophia and Joshua Jr.

Andrea joined the CrossWinds staff in 2009 and has thoroughly enjoyed the privilege of using her gifts alongside some of the most loving, creative, dedicated people she’s ever met. She earned her Masters Degree from Fuller Theological Seminary, and has been leading ministries for over 25 years. Andrea is the Executive Director for Lead Bold, a nonprofit organization dedicated to equipping and empowering women in ministry; she also serves on the teaching team for Preacher Chicks United, an incubator for women of color to cultivate their gifts of preaching and teaching. She is frequently invited to speak for other ministries, churches, and conference centers, and embraces any chance she gets to speak life and love to anyone who happens to be listening. Prior to living in the Bay Area, Andrea and her husband Chris lived in Las Vegas where she was a cast member in an all-improvised show with The Second City. She wrote a book all about it called Scriptless: What I Learned About God on the Las Vegas Strip. She is a dynamic teacher, a reluctant writer, a funny friend and mom to two awesome girls.

Justin is a Tri-Valley native and has called CrossWinds home since the late 90’s. In that time, he has consistently had a calling to serve the church and community in a variety of ways. From 2013 to 2017, he officially joined our staff, lending his gifts and skills to support the creative programming for Sunday mornings, as well as for our Student Ministries. Then, after seven years working in the fundraising space, he re-joined the CrossWinds staff as the Creative Arts Director. He is passionate about the power of storytelling in all its forms and showcasing how God is in every aspect of life. Justin and his wife Adele have been married since 2015 and have three beautiful children: Jubilee, Elisha, and Isaac.

As the Family Life Pastor, RJ oversees Frontline (Volunteers), Family Ministries (Kids and Student Ministry), and Community Life (Small Groups). He and his wife, Arissa are Southern California natives who are excited to serve and grow with this community. When he's not connecting with church members or hearing their stories, you'll likely find him exploring local coffee shops, trying new restaurants, or enjoying a good movie. He's passionate about getting to know people and hearing about the unique journeys that have brought them to CrossWinds, and considers it a blessing to help strengthen these connections within the CrossWinds Church community.

Sarah Holstra moved to the Bay Area to join our Crosswinds staff in 2019. As the Growth Pastor, she helps people grow in two ways - inward, through spiritual formation and healing, and outward, by expanding how our church loves our neighbors. She has a Bachelor's degree in Youth Ministry, a Master's degree in Pastoral Counseling, and is currently pursuing a Doctoral degree in Spiritual Formation and Relational Neuroscience. When she's not reading (her favorite pastime) or frequenting her local farmer's market, Sarah loves spending time with her husband Zac, their dog Charlie, and their cats Winston and Cece.

Sofia was originally born in Northern California, however, her upbringing was in Orlando, Florida. She has a knack for living around large bodies of water and considers herself a coastal baby. Recently she has moved back to her roots from Southern California where she called home the past 8 years. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theology from Epic Bible College in Sacramento and minored in kinesiology. She has had the honor of working in full-time ministry for over a decade for multiple houses and hearts, from overseeing missions to youth, young adults, worship. Called into full-time ministry at age 18, she has been relentless in her pursuit to see hearts and lives fully restored and healed through passionate worship, building of teams, speaking God’s truth, and gathering community. It’s been said that the first time you meet her, you’ll feel like you’ve known each other for years. Also, coffee is one of her love languages!

Sage joined the CrossWinds staff in 2025 all the way from Austin, Texas! She is passionate about teaching students that they are loved as they are, who God is, and how they can be the love of Jesus to others! With over 8 years of experience in student ministry, she is currently completing her Bible and Theology degree at Tyndale Theological Seminary. Coffee, food, good company, and the outdoors are her love language! Sage married her high school sweetheart, Ry, and they have a son named Marshall. They love exploring new restaurants and hiking trails as a family!
